Renaming cloned chars

My friend wanted to know how to rename Cloned chars (cloned is when you d/l a char off the internet) Any seggestions would be useful

i don't know if you can do this, but you can try going into ur diablo folder in ur program file, and see if the char stuff is in one of the folder, if it is, try to change the place where the name is

if you manualy change the name you get a error i think .. you could just get a editor and change the name in there think jamella you can do it on

using an editor is easier than editing the char files (as stated), but editing the file name is possible, and it works, just takes longer, cause for some you have multiple files

Well thanks guys ill try that....But shes an elite so what editor should i use? (elite is over lvl 99)

well this is prob most likely for open or single player. so wut ur wanna goina do it go into ur My Computer, C: Drive ( w/e ur main drive is ), program files, diablo II then there should be a saved file and ull see the name for example ClonedChar (that would be the name) then u just change it there to wut u want and kaboom

lol its easy. go into your diablo directory and go into ur saved folder. rename the *.d2s file to the name u wnat. later

if you are even using a clone you are lame, and if you don't know how to rename, even lamer... Jamella shadow etc doesn't work due to high stats reset to neg's... PM me for the right prog..
