Do you guys still remember the old AT partners or people you used to play with that kicked ass with you until something happen?
Last night, I was 2on2 RTing in a hard game of Wetlands with Dark_Assassin.Qc. It was hard because my base was constantly attacked and in one attac, I manage to wild goose chase my Far Seer with potions and the burrows killed off the grunts and some of the rifles. After DA warped in, we attacked the orc and I got a firelord on the fly (considering the gold/wood I had and the lack of burrows wasn't helping either). We managed to pull off a win, even though he was ud and I had to give him 100 gold at the start. Then he asked if we could AT, and I said "k". After we did, we managed to pull off 3 wins straight. The games involved true tests of micro against things like: Archers + dryads + tauren, daul SH rush with 700 Grunts, or even riders + aboms and gf ghouls with necs. Thanks to this guy, I have some re-kindled spirit and I stopped forgetting things like fast expoing and in-battle micro.
But then there were the old teammates I used to play with. Like Woodpencil and Dream_walker. Before Dream_walker quit Melee and went on to DOTA / Customs, we were the team that could make the impossible possible. I still remember games with this guy where he we had tug o' wars and he managed to pull off a rider tech before the enemy could get aa, or even when I had my hero left being pounded by tauren and cornered, he managed to save my KOTG's ass after my bears and dryads fell (tauren and zerks aren't easy to kill, even with micro). Also we did silly things like say "FOR BLACKEY" and he says "RAWR"! or spam >: all game. Although he played DotA a bit, his hero killing abilities and taking advantages when he saw them allowed us to turn the tide on even the trickiest battles. Woodpencil was another story, he sucked when he played with me and Greg, but he had qualities that we liked. Now he is in a clan (SwP) and thier chieftan taught him how to play better, which ended up getting us a few wins. However, when he was with me: He managed to play better than he does on 3on3 AT.
ViViD.4 was a good player too. Even after that one round of AT, his base got rushed by dual orc and daul batriders. However, I was prepared! I massed up towers around my fortress (8). And they still tried to bomb me even when all thier bats kept dying, I also had a few peons on auto-repair to fix it. After we attacked one of the bases (he has no d), the other guy got wise and towered his whole base. I got demos and played cat and mouse with him and managed to pull off the win. We won 3 games before he disappeared.
There are a few others like Playa69 and stuff, but I don't want to get too wordy .
