Who does them? I love doing them. Lately in the past three or so games, i've done it constantly, i've teched straight to Reavers and made a stable defense and dropped a Reaver next to an enemies minerals and microed it as much as i could. And it has worked the past 3 times :D

I find it extremely helpful, if you pull it off. Here's a replay of me Reaver-dropping Orange (Jake Jeckel), my ally was TrongaMonga and the Zerg player was Akule.

His defense always sucks Tronga. :p

Renzokaka, try doing that with 2 reavers instead, fun for dropping one, picking the other up in between a cooldown time. Causes hell. :D

Well...duh! Of course it would, i was spending all my minerals on teching to reavers, and buying the shuttle and reaver. I usually just get two zealots to wall and possibly one or two cannons.

Two reavers takes too long, a Terran player should definately have missile turrets by then, and i hope to avoid that. And besides, i need the shuttle to micro the reaver.

Yeah I had a couple turrets when you tried it but you still got it on the ground, then you dominated my small army, and I ended up destryoing you with mah scvs, so no big loss :)

If you can, go in with a probe as well if the Reaver can keep everyone off long enough, get up a pylon and a cannon.
If you get that far, keep shuttling in additional units in case the oponent expanded and brings in reinforcements.

I've seen it done, sorta done it to others, and looks good on paper, but with everything, it doesn't always work as planned.

What I prefer is to do the drop later and teleport a variety in rather than use a shuttle.

Recalling can be dangerous though, on so many occasions i have screwed up a recall and lost my arbs and so few units. Besides, to really hurt someone with recall, you should have at least two arbiters, and it requires a bit of micro to scroll down to wherever the units are (Have them hotkeyed) then be in the right position, and you may not be because your retarded arbiter moved out of the way when attacked by another unit. I'd just prefer to distruption web then drop. It's safer, and in some respects, cheaper.

So, that's why and all the other mistakes you make that make you have a nice APM rate :)

Leave the APM out of this ok? But i must admit, when i do make something move, i try to make it move as quickly as possible to its destination, so i madly click to make it move immediately, then i click to the destination so it continuously moves. ;)

I've now realised not to tech straight to reavers against Zerg, because if they do a 4-6pool ling rush, you're screwed.

It's perfectly fine to tech vs Zerg the only problem is you will be getting a 11-13 expo assuming you are playing safe. It's normally good to tech to corsairs =) they are good for scouting + if you are lucky you might be able to kill an overlord or 2

Do you mean that the Protoss player will be expanding at 11-13 food? Because that is extremely dangerous...
