Really laggy

I just got the game to work on one of my computer's after i tried 3 times. I start to play it's pretty fun but it lags heaps. Does anyone know anything i couyld do to fix it cos it's hard to play.

um turning off general chat and trade chat helps a lil acually.. otherwise just make sure ur not on websites and aim or running any other programs and all that suff... thats all i know wat to do to help get rid of some of the lag :-/

There was a patch that came out by Blizzard to fix that actually. A friend of mine owns the game, and was all excited to play it until he got massive lag no matter what he did.

Not sure where you can find it, but that'll fix it for you, did for my friend.

As long you not in Ironforge/Major town, lag shouldn't be too much, check your Latency to see if it's your connection.

My latency is usually red or yellow, i dont think ive seen it ever green. But i don't think it's my connection because i got dsl. Does opening certain ports like the ones on WoW site say make it faster or does it only work for blizzard downloader?

It should not be in the yellow or red all the time. You might want to look at your router settings if you have one. See if the ports are open to wow. Which you could find more information on the main website.

Mine has never left red latency. I am, though, 56k and I just recently got raped by spyware which my spybot can't seem to get rid of.
