If i were to make a location with a bunch of units with location Y on them and create the condition:
Give 1 any unit owned by player Z at location Y to player X

would the resulting units be chosen at random or in a certain order??

any unit means all of them including buildings. You may choose 1 specific unit yet it would be all of them, but you may also choose how many units are given.

not very clear...

But I think it is random...I need to check. but when you move ONE UNIT, out of different ones, it's random.

Whenever you do a give unit at location, it always gives the unit at the most top left of the location.
Every trigger is applied first with the top left of the location and it goes down from there.
Get it?

yes, ok.
I was going to have diffrent units be selected.
So if it is top from the top left that they are chosen, then maybe i should have the units walk around so that when they are selected, they should be chosen at random right?

From my experiance it pickes lower left. Actually it picks the left most and only choices the lower one IF there is a tie. (lower left or upper left is unclear)

I was told it was the UPPER first and yet then i have seen it select the lower unit numorius times. (it is the same order for center locations, kill and removing units. I don't know how the order got mixed up.

I've experienced as upper left because I had this huge location over something. and I told it to kill one unit. And it killed the most upper left.
HMMM....
I'm gonna go test that out right now.

Sorry I had to double post but I'm going to post a map.
Now I just tested this out.
I placed a square full of marines.
I placed a location over all of them.
Then I set the trigger to kill one marine
And I was right, it did kill the top left one.

Now this might be different for me(I have no freaking clue) but for my computer, it killed top left.

ok I recreated the units using SCM Drafts Snap to Grid (now it is the lower left)

Edit: I retried the maps with preserve trigger. Your map was alomost random as it would skip around and mine appeared on very exact one after the next.

I edited the one of Bolt Head , and put ''Preserve Trigger''. The game will kill them in a order from bottom left to upper right.

Try this : When it kill the second line of marine , take a marine of the LAST line , and bring him into the bottom left first line. He will die the first :p

For fun I edited my map once again.
-Added Hyper Trigger
-Added trigs to give one to player before each time it kills (and to give them back)

Well it made a very interesting effect

I just created a random unit chooser!
btw, cool effect bolt
and does anyone know how to add p12 units in SCXE without having to go to p12 mode, its beginning to be a real drag and slow me down alot.
