Radar tower useless?

watching the Terran clip i noticed that they said the missile turrets are supported by a radar tower so they can see us. so does that mean missile turrets can no longer detect cloaked units?

if that is the case i think that a radar tower is useless. why build another building when you can just upgrade a missile turret to have the same power as the radar tower. they could make it so that you pay the same amount to upgrade the missile turret to be a radar tower.

UMMMM ARE YOU STUPID the radar tower detects oncoming units cloaked and normal and allows you to see dem so its like da turret with a bigger sight range with out the missiles.......THATS WHY ITS CALLED A RADAR TOWER

Yea... from what I understand, radar tower lets you see the locations of enemy units (not sure about buildings) in the fog as well (they are shown as red dots? or soemthing?) and their movement. It seems very useful to have several of them around the whole map.... they're probably cheap

And if i recall you can upgrade the tower to have even more range and possibly att (but i can't rem)

It would play a huge role in defense and offense.
I dont think it useless. It will probably just take some mastering to get a good strategy down.

i never once said to completely get rid of it. i said we should just remove it and have all that attachment be an upgrade to the missile turret. they can even make it cost the same. why build missile turrets that can't detect and waste money to build sensor towers just so that the missile can attack cloaked airships?

the tower is there, why not just put one big ass antenna on top and make it a hybrid.

maybe i said it wrong for that i apologize. what i wanted to say was, we should leave the detecting ability on the turret on there. then with it still being able to detect cloaked ships we can get rid of the radar tower and have it be an upgradeable part of the turret. they can basically make the upgrade cost the same as the radar tower itself. that's all i'm saying
