I know this has been asked before, but I dont see the post. I can't get GU Edit to work. What else locks maps? Or how do I get GU Edit working? A link to a post with instructions would help alot.
ok first open the map u want to protect (lock) then, save it as a diff name (v1 after name etc.) then open GUEdit and click open map. open the v1 map you just made (make sure that staredit is closed) then hit protect. hit full protect and then save as the version w/out the v1 after it.

Download java 1.1.2.1 or whatever version is newest from java.com, this lets you run GUEdit, open a copied .CHk of your map (use staredit to save as .chk (file - save as .chk) protect this, and save as a .scx file.
Another program that is good for prrotection is SCM Toolkit, this one is harder to get working but it works much better.
