1024 And thats text strings not characters. A string can be a whole paragraph. Things that use text strings are .

Map Title, Map Description, Force Names, Changed Switch Names, Locaitons, Wavs, Display Text, Transmissions, Map Breifings, Unit names, and Comments. (did i misss anything)

So the Map Title and the Map Description would each only count as 1 string?

Well, Im a bit releived that you have a limit on text strings and not text characters. Kinda sux that wave's count as a text string; if you have an RpG where a wave is played everytime you display a text message, your doubling your limit...

no cause it just uses one text string when you add a wav to the map, (the path name for the wav) Not every time you use the wav in a trigger.

oooOOOOH! I see now. So every sound file will only take up one string.. HmmMmmm.. well, thats a bit relieving too.

So, would you say that its a good idea to NOT use comments if you want to save strings or room in your map?

Its a good idea to consider it but don't obsess over it. Also blank comments without text do not take up a string. So something like your hyper triggers is good using a blank comment rather than labeling it something like "hyper"

Secondly if you have a group of triggers that are basicly the same thing but with a slight change. You might make a header comment that tells what the next 10 triggers are or so and leave the rest blank comments.

Anyways i wouldn't worry too much about the comments, If you do happen to max your text strings you can just delete the text in them and then use the string.

Also you should proboly know that wavs add a string when you upload them to your map, (it stays there even if you delete it) So don't upload your wavs into your map unless your sure you will use it.
