Doesny anyone know how close you can put minerals to you start location (Starcraft Xtra Editor) without , once you play it, have the minerals dissapear?

In all reality, if you have placed the minerals, or gas with a placement editor, and they disapear when you play the game.
You put them too close, probably slightly on top of the starting point.
I usually use a distance equal to a maries size, from the starting point, when creating such a map.
Ideally, experience will be the best teacher.

yeah, having a space about the size of a worker between the minerals and the building (at least) would help a little. Otherwise, you can place it as close as you can by turning on the grid and aligning it to that. I know of a program that automatically aligns to a grid (32x32 or 16x16), stack any unit or building, change the tileset, player colors, and a lot more. The only thing it doesn't do is edit triggers.
