i know that theres dclone hunters out there, i just cant find them atm (once i start looking ill find them, i know there ont his forum somewhere)

my question is, are they detectable? ive never used one and from waht i know it shouldnt be detectable, but i know some are bots that keep joining games until it hits the server you want, and i know bots are detecatble (arnt they...?) so im not sure if there safe

i wanna start anni hunting with my pally, but i dont wanna get banned -.-

Drop trading in act 2 would work best in your situation.

In all my years of diablo II, I've only found diablo clone once, while rushing in hell for forge. I did all the killing but he ended up getting it anyways :/. Your best bet is to just get lucky I suppose.

You said that you had an off-character torch. You could spend your time hunting around for keys and such, maybe get lucky to get a pally torch. You may even find yourself in a 'hot' game.

=/ didnt answer my question

i dont like doing scams, if i wanted to scam i could get a LOT more than a torch (ask the people i play with how i started again...^^)

but i dont like having to deal with the 30 ppl that only go into the game to **** with you before you find someone to get

as for the key hunts, im just too lazy to do that, id prefer running abot and relaxing, surfing the web, and waiting for it to find a game for me

Ip finding bots work just like you sitting there checking the ip manually except much faster, you still have to know where dclone is going to appear before they are of any use. A clone hunting bot will NOT figure out which IP is likely to spawn dclone nor will it find him in a current game.

The way it works is you set your bot/hunter ect to look for a specific IP, one that you either plan on selling soj's on yourself or you know someone is going to sell some on in the near future.

There are a couple different approaches to bots that find ip's, but since I was unable to find one of them in the bot section I won't post the url's for it. But like anything if it is 3rd party it is detctable if blizzard wants to find it. DCSitter is the one in the sticky here it is clientless and will not hold a game for you. Ie you need to be there when it finds the game and join it with another character. Other than that it works ok. There are a couple more hunting bots out there that IMO work a whole lot better.

Scamming people for annis is MUCH harder than actually finding the clones and killing yourself once you do it once or twice its not as hard as you think. The clone hunting sticky is a great place to start and pending an approval from a mod I'll post a link to a group that does hunts on a regular basis.

-Waiting for answer from mod.

i know about how they work, my simple questionw as WILL THEY GET ME BANNED.

not ALL 3rd party programs can get you cought. as far as i know an IP hunter is doing nothign server side, but as with other bots (jsp), maybe its possible to get me banned still.

and btw, mods rarely visit around these forums anymore, just take my word that your allowed to post as long as its not a scam/virus/trojan/etc.

my word is as good as a mods in this section.

Well the site I was going to post is another website not for the bot itself but it can be found there.

Can you get banned using a clone hunting bot? Yeah probably.
Do I know of anyone who has? No.

There is an older version of DC Sitter that uses an autoit script to create games, (i think its sitter anyways) and it is probably the (safest/undetectable/whatever). The only drawback to using it is you need a seperate install per cd key that you want to hunt on. (edit you might be limited to ONE key to hunt with with an autoit based bot because it probably won't run minimized.)

The more elaborate and powerful bots can just use different mpq's and run from the same directory.

The bot the serious hunters use include anti-idle code variable game creation delay and a few more nifty tricks, but I guess the question you have to ask is do I want the extra speed/features etc at the cost of more visibity to blizzard. As for if they are looking for ip bots atm, who knows.

*EDIT*
Most hunters do NOT hunt with their main account, just an un-nessacary risk. If you have a spare cd-key (or 10) g-rush yourself a few characters (on seperate accounts) to hell and use them to hunt with. Then once dclone takes a walk use your pally to kill him. This gives you a character to kill with and one to pick up the anni with. When you get into hunting you are only limited to how many cd-keys/ip addresses you have. (4 without a proxy, but thats another subject.)

Ok I got confirm this was ok, if you are looking for more bots and clone hunting in general you should visit http://dcloneirc.net if you don't have irc then there is a java client so theres nothing to download, anways swing by the #useast-dclone channel (or west if ur west) and the #bots channel for more information.

Look me up when you get there.
