Are they going to have a World Editor? Half the fun of buying the game is knowing that there will be hundreds of great user created maps that keep the game alive years after it should have died. I mean, look at starcraft.Ii cannot believe people still play that.

World of Warcraft is a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game), the game is updated periodically (every month or less) by the staff at Blizzard Entertainment to get new content. Hence we have the 15 dollar/month fee.

No, there will be no custom material in World of Warcraft, probably never will be either unless it is cracked.

The only editor it will have is on your credit card bill.

MS, there are editors for D2. You can edit the MPQ files you have and that can change the map. They are called MODS. As for WoW, no. It will not be offline at all, and the world is so huge there is no point to have an editor anyways. You will be paying for an online monthly service, and you cannot edit the game because the information is held on their servers and not yours, so you can't edit anything. The only thing you can change is the custom interface.

Who in their right minds installs mods, the game is already hacked up as it is. Always people buying items from websites, making up scams to get sojs (i think they are still worth sopmthing) eth hellslayers.... etc.

Yeah, but if I ever get bored I either download a new map for the game or switch to a new one.

No MMORPGs have come out with map editors... and this won't be the first.

And you mention how starcraft still has lots of people playing it... so does MANY other old games... maps or not. The only possible way of making a mod for WoW would be [Disclaimer: The following will never happen] if someone had managed to make a WoW server and then modified the map files.

However, it would be possible to make minor client-side modifications, such as minor graphic modifications, but nothing that would affect gameplay very much.

If they did, then people would have to download these maps and mods. The engine would probably be so advanced (like dp said), that you may want to just masturbate instead of learning how!
