Q about Unit Descriptions/Rank

1. click on men (any men) while SC is running.
2. notice that single unit and it's Description
(i.e. If you clicked on Duran, it would have it's "unit name" up top
and in the upper middle area it would give it a RANK, for Duran = Lieutenant)
3. This "upper middle area" .... is it modifiable for all units?
4. If so, how?

What Heimdal said. You can change unit names all you want. But in order to change the Ranks you need to make a mod, and that takes some time if you do it right.

It's not really that hard, all you would need to do is change some strings in stat_txt.tbl. You don't even need arsenal for that. The thing about mods is that they're not functional on b.net unless all players have it beforehand, so most mappers stay away from them.

yup. i know what you meant by mod. i ain't gonna go there.
it's too long of a walk to get nowhere... aint' no one gonna play it.

i was just surprised i couldn't change it... was hoping there was some
super sneaky way.
