PVP/PVM Amazon 1.10,Classic Multiplayer Guide for Diablo 2
PVP:person vs Person
PVM:person vs Monster
Building a pvp/pvm zon, and a sucessful one at that, can be amazingly difficult. In 1.10, barbs, pali's, and necros have been updated in a way which greatly reduces a zon's capability's. So, I will tell you how to individually combat them.
First of all, we start off with a basic profile viewing of zons:
Attrributes
Starting Attributes
Strength: 20
Dexterity: 25
Vitality: 20
Mana: 15
Each Character Level
Life +2
Stamina +1
Mana +1.5

Attribute Point Effect
1 Vitality point gives 3 Life and 1 Stamina
1 Energy point gives 1.5 Mana

There are two types of zons: Javy zon, and Bow zon.
Javelin Zons: These are quite a force to be reckoned with in pvm. The reason being that that many of their various skills, are multiple targeting spells. The two main skills used for a javy zon in pvm is "Lightning Fury," and "Lightning Strike." Lightning Strike tends to be mastered by javy zons, because it gives a major damage bonus to Lightning Fury. At level 20, Lightning Fury can hit up to 21 targets, with a base damage of 580, without adding in the effects of bonuses, and resistance. Fury can be an especially helpful skill when facing cows.

Bow Zons:Bow zons, as described in the name, specify in bows and crossbows. The reason these are more common, is at level 18, the zon can learn an ability called "Guided Arrow."Guided Arrow not only increases damage(costs 8 mana at first, but then slowly deducts by .2-.3), but it locks on to the target, and will continue to follow them until either their hit, or it diminishes. This can be a very helpful skill since a zon can shoot at a far enough range, in which they can't be seen. PVM, however, not only focuses on this ability, but multiple shot.

Mutual Abilities aka Passive and Magics: These skills are used mutually by both types of zons. Nearly all skills in this tree, can be helpful. Avoid(Missile),Dodge(Melee),Evade(Dodge both while running), will give you a chance to avoid being hit from the specified attack. Evade and Avoid have a 56% chance to dodge at level 20, and dodge has a 65% chance to dodge at level 20. When combined with your equip, both melee and missile attacks will have a very difficult time hitting you.
Another skill with which could be the most helpful against Necro's,zons, and sorc's, is the skill "Slow Missile." At first, this skill won't show powerful results since the effects wear off, but once maxed, this skill can pretty much disable their missile attacks for 2 minutes.

WARNING: There are ways to work around this. If a sorc is right by you when slow missle is cast upon them, and they use a skill such as orb, it will actually increase their damage, so be sure to stay at a distance.
While zons can't work around this, they too can cast slow missile on you.
PvP necro's tend to have a descent level of Bone wall, so unless you can withstand their Bone Spirits with ease, have a healthful supply of tp, or can break through their bone wall right away, they will most likely run up to you, and use their BS at close range.
Now that we have a basic profile view, we shall now look at Characteristic Stats Distribution.
Character Attribute Distribution
First of all, lets look at the individual stats and discover their effects:

Strength:Strength is a stat affect which is generally needed to wear weapons ,armors, etc. Zon's don't tend to need strength, so you'll want to keep this stat at a minimal requirement of equipment.

Dexterity:This is possibly one of the most important stats. While the best bows(Nock, Harp, forgot third) only require 125 max, dexterity is the stat point that increases a zon's damage. 50/50 of the zons made base soley on improving their damage with dexterity.

Vitality:Vitality, or life and stamina, is the often argued over attribute importance with dexterity. While damage is important, a zon also needs life and stamina so that they are able to take numerous hits while still being alive. Since it is rather foolish to use stamina-boosting equip, you'll need to be able to run great distances w/o stopping. However, zons rely more on life leech, rather than this stat.

Energy: This is a zon's most useless skill, next to strength. While it is important a zon have mana, they, like the barbs, rely more on life leech and mana leech than the actual stat itself. the highest you'll want to put into this is a base 100 or so.

Skill Point Distribution
Skill Points: You receive one skill point per level. What you can do with this skill point is either learn a new skill, or increase the level of a current skill. But be sure to remember that all skills have a level requirement, so it is often important to simple save these points for the skill you wish to learn. There are some quests in the game that reward you skill points. The following quests will reward you a point:
Act 1
Den of Evil(Quest #1)-Rewards 1 skill point.
Act 2
Radament's Tomb(Quest #1)-Rewards 1 skill point.
Act 3
None
Act 4
Izrael's Spirit(Quest 1)-Rewards 2 skill points.
The same quests appear in all three difficulty's, aka normal, nightmare, and hell. So overall the game rewards a grand total of 12 skill points.
The skills listed are the only skills that will get more than 1 skill point. Otherwise, only put 1 skill point into the skills of which are required.
PvM Bow Zon
Your main skills for a PvM zon are:
Avoid
Dodge
Guided Arrow
Multiple Shot
Pierce
Slow Missle(optional)
PvP Bow Zon
Your main skills don't differ to much, except for the Multiple Shot and Evade:
Avoid
Dodge
Guided Arrow
Evade
Pierce
Slow Missleoptional)
PvM Javy Zon
Since they use entirely different trees, the main skills change, but they use some of the same Passive and Magic Skills:
Dodge
Plague Javelin
[Valkyrie
Lightning Strike
Lightning Fury
Avoid(optional
Decoy(optional)
PvP Javy Zon
Dodge
Avoid
Fend
Valkyrie
Lightning Strike
Lightning Fury
Plague Javelin(Optional)
To make sure that you understand what each individual skill is, I took the liberty of linking to the skill tree profiles.

Now that we have a basic understand of the Amazon, it is time for the actual guide. But first, a few guide notes you may want to read:

Note 1:A Javy and Bow Zon will basically have the same exact guide, except for smaller things such as skill/characteristic distribution, so don't send complaints or comments about this matter.

Note 2:Any items, equipment, etc. are completely random, so I can't give an exact guide on the kind of items you can expect to get/use. But I'll try and do as best I can.

Note 3:When working with allies in multiplayer, experience is shared as long as the group is close together when killing enemies. Exp is divided evenly amongst the allies who are near the kills. So when working in Multiplayer, be sure that you stick close to allies.

Note 4:When someone joins the game, a message like this will appear:

Character Name(Username) has joined the game. Diablo's minion's grow stronger.

Monsters, along with bosses, do indeed get stronger, but even with a full house, thier still close to thier average strength. But you will eventually have an eye for telling the difference in strength. But usually, your allies help will heavly outweigh thier increased strength.

When an allie leaves the game, a message like this will appear:

Character Name(Username) has left the game. Diablo's minion's grow weaker.

As it says, the monster then instantly lose in increased strength that player gave them when they joined.

Now, before I continue on with the guide, I'd like to say a few words:

I am sincerely sorry that I was inactive. I was forced to halt production of any and all materials I was working on. Now,after several months, I can finally continue with my work.

Thats all I really had to say. You may now continue on with the guide, on the next post.

Oh, and one last thing: I am sorry for the triple post. The max size of a post/topic is 10100 characters, so I had to cut out the none-essentials for the first part of the guide.

Act 1

FAQ'S
What is Life Leech and Mana Leech?
Life and Mana leech are a skill that skulls(gems), and certain equipment have. What this ability does is drain life or mana from the enemy, and transfer it to you. The highest base leech you'll find is around 6-8%.

Why do I need these leeches?
Well, it can become quite bothersome having to either waste valuble attribute points, or constantly having to buy potions, in order to restore life or mana. If you have both leeches, you don't have to waste time or money constant buying potions.

So, what your saying is that if I have both leeches, I don't have to buy potions?
While these leeches can help out quite a bit, potions can often recover faster than you can leech someone. Early on in the game, you will lose life or mana faster than you can leech it. This way, if you have a good supply of mana and life potions, you can recover it almost instantly, instead of having to go around leeching.

How do I use leeches?
Well, all you have to do is equip the item that has that specific leech, then attack a person or monster. Once hit, you will leech a few points of life and/or mana from them. You know it's working when an aura glows over your head.
Red Aura=Life Leech
Blue Aura=Mana Leech
Purple Aura=Both
Purple aura only happens when you leech someone so fast, you leech life and mana at once. You won't gain life or mana, if an enemy has more leech than you.

-is it really necesary to state this?
IMO this is more of a general zon reference rather than a guide, would probably b better off in the newbie section -_-

I'm not finished with the guide. I am just giving them an overall review of a zon. I am working on the actual guide as we speak. This is more of a reference for newbies to use, not pros. Duh!
