How would I best go about doing this? After making my other thread, I've decided to remake my MF sorc into a Blizzard Sorceress, and then make a PvM Orb Sorceress for mostly Normal and Nightmare rushing, and that sort of thing. I just need the basic layout, but so far I was thinking of doing this:

Max Orb, Ice Bolt, and Cold Mastery (That’s 60 Points).

After that, not sure what I would put points in. She will be somewhat old school, and she WILL use energy shield so I'll need to pump Vitality and Energy I think. I want her to use Spirit too, so I'll fork over enough STR for that as well.

So, 145 or so STR, maybe 5 more, and the rest into Vitality/Energy, but at what rate? I can get mana much more easily then life, so maybe more vitality then energy? 2:3 i what I was thinking...but I might not have enough stat points to make any effective difference since I put so much into STR for Spirit. ><

A possible list of gear I should use would also be nice, for most effective balance of damage, life, resistances, etc. ^_^

But you guys will probably tell me to invest all of it in Vitality...

OK DM, what you have for skills is great, but you're going to want to put a couple of points into an armor. Some other PVM Orb sorc skills are ES(not too many points) and Warmth(to recover lost mana). Yes I know it looks like its starting to be a .09 build, but it works. Depending on the gear you want to use with your Order, you won't need anyhere near 145 in STR, usually 100 str(base) would be perfect. Besure that you have STR Addition charms(small) and some gear. You're best bet for distribution of Stat points is alternating 2:3 to 3:2 with your Vit/Ene. If the char is mainly for norm/nm rushing, you won't need much more then about 150 vit, unless you want to be able to do the entire thing without even teleporting. Send me a message, and I'll see if I can come up with a quick little guide(even though I've not played D2 in like 3 months, but it's still pretty fresh in mind).

Well ya, those were common sense, along with E-shield, teleport, etc. I just won’t to know what to put points into once I got all my cold stuff maxed, and got the necessary Buffs and Skills needed to do the stuff I need to do. I was thinking of maxing an armor or something, but I wanted your guys honest input on the matter. :)

What do you think I should go though? 2:3 on Vit or energy? I did same for both with my current sorc, and she has about 1000 life and 1150 Mana (175 Energy/Vitality) And she isn't even maxed on her gear nor vitality charms yet, so yeah...not sure what to put more into.

Str comes at a price. I have a thing about the str bug, I despise it, and I would rather boost STYR to where I can see my shield instead of where I can't. I might need to try and get an Anni, those always help in getting a good boost to stats. Then there’s War Travelers, and Sandstorm Treks to boost STR too. Any suggestions on how to go about getting to 156 (or to where my Spirit shield will be visible) and not put tons of points on STR are greatly appreciated. :)

i would highly suggest not putting ANY points into energy, and just max warmth. with max warmth and decent items, putting points into energy becomes almost useless. if at 70ish your finding your still running out of mana really quick you could throw a couple of points into energy, but only a minimum amount.

placing even just one point into each armor and letting +skills do the rest can be useful till you find the armor you like the best. the armor you choose should depend on personal preference and the situation your in.

Hmm, from experience, I happen to like the second armor the best, Shiver Armor I think it's called. And like I said, I want a bunch of 1.09-like sorceresses. With the way 1.10 orks, everyone would just max vitality and rely on items for mana, and I don't like doing it that way. If I did it that way, I would seem like most other sorceresses, and I don't want that. :)

Maybe if I got a SoJ, and Frostburns, I would cisder putting no points into Energy. Otherwise, I probably will.

LS, even with max warmth, with ES, you're going to need more then base ene, but if you are to do max warmth, you won't need more then about 85 ene.

DM, I never used the STR bug, I could never get it to work, so I used items that add to str, and charms for my sorc. Then again, I did give her 125 for her str, but sorc's don't need 145 str to have a visible shield. As for the magic shield, if you're looking for a major boost in Def, go with shiver armor, otherwise go with frozen armor. The reason for frozen armor should be obvious. Well, have fun with the Orber. That char, with only one main element, will be quite limited in Hell. Well, I hope that this second post helps you a little more then the first.

Ya, alright then. I'll just max Shiver then, beings it's my personal favorite and it's helped me whenever I've had it on. :)

And yeah, but like I said, she will be for normal/NM only, and only for certain things in Hell. :D

Thanks a lot SoD-GoD and Life_source. ^_^
