Ps2 won't read new games

my ps2 has been working perfect until Gran turismo 4 came out... for some reason it won't read any of the new games.. like gta4 or God of War.. i just bought both of them.. and then I rented a game like an hour ago that just came out also forgot the name and it wouldn't work.. so i busted out like tekken 5 and some other games and they worked... it says disc error..!? Can someone help?

did you try cleainin your ps2 using the guide, if that doesnt help it may be your laser which may be damaged. it happend to mine and now i have no ps2 until like june.

my bro opened it and tried to clean the laser and position it so it would work.. we will see if anything happens or i will just wait for ps3.. weee

yeah, mine doesn't wanna read it either but its will like all of my games,not just the newer ones. i have to clean them all right before i try to play anything.
