I am wondering what programming language would be the most useful to learn in order to understand the hacking that goes on and contribute to it. I have s basic background in C++. Should I bolser that knowledge, or would it be more useful to learn something else? I've got a whole bunch of classes to choose from.

Korittke,

I don´t know for sure what you mean with "-> ?", but i guess you know C# (C Sharp) is the new C language? First came C, then C++ and now C#

It´s a bit like java i think, java = slover than C++ and thats why most games is written in C++ etc. C# has also taken a lot from java.

Well, thats probably not what you meant, please write what you mean so I can ask more understandably question.

I heard of C# 2 years ago in a hacker/coder forum and everything was negative and i dont know why the heck i should change to another language than c++, becos c++ roxxOrz. also if c# is like java, sounds like s#it. also c# stands for c++++ afaik.

C# is another internet language.

Depending on what kind of hacking the best is C, C++, Delphi, ASM and if you going to run Linux OS learn Java.

Ok, i didn´t want make you angry or anything, no hard feelings ok.

Placebo

it´s better prepared for internet and similar projects, but it´s not the main purpose, or? i don´t know...

But as all new languages it´s supposed to be better, they fixed some things better from C++ (as C++ did from C), took/redone some features from java which was better and so on...

But ok, i don´t know, maybee it won´t be the leading language as C++ is and become when it came.

The reason I don't recommend C# because I believe it isn't as powerful as most of the other web programming languages

Korittke,

ok then good, but when someone writes 24 exclamation marks (!), it´s usually means that person is irritated, as same if someone writes with big letters means you shout. So i thought you were kinda irritated...

Placebo,

i can´t understand what you mean by ...isn't as powerful as most of the other web programming languages. Isn´t C++ the most powerful language? I can´t imagine C# who is built on C++ and improved should be less powerful, i´m no expert but i don´t see the logic here.

C# is a windows only programming system.. so unless you run a windows webserver (easily hacked if not updated every patch) it is really no use.

Placebo,

no it´s supposed to be independent of system or what it´s called in english as java is. Well i´m not 100% sure, but it´s supposed to be able to make the code independant of language = visual basic code to work with C++ or C#, C++ with VB and C# and so on. I don´t remember exactly (don´t have time to check it right now), but if it is as i wrote then it should be possible to do the things C++ can do.

It is Microsoft Net programming (Net Framework) They wanted a hybrid VB with the power C++ but web based since they had problems with the makers of Java.

In order to use the .Net Framework you have to download the runtimes that are Windows based only at this time.
