Probly dumb ?'s about professions

How many different one's are there?
How do u learn them?
And wth is the purpose.

I'm level 15 nearing 16 undead rogue if that has anything to do w/ professions at all.

You can learn professions at any level, you just need money to learn it.

You can learn up to two primary professions (Herbalism, Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Mining, Skinning, Leatherworking, etc etc). So generally, pick two that go together, skinning is the gathering profession for leatherworking, mining for blacksmithing, herbalism for alchemy.

The purpose is to give yourself something to do, really. It's fun to level it up and you can make some pretty awesome stuff.

Thanks. I learned skinning/leatherworking and mostly selling crap. I'm just trying to L2P so I'm not completely stupid come TBC. Can you change your primary professions any time or no?

Yeah. Just go to your skills tab (c to open character then skills, forgot what the default for skills is), click the profession and there should be a Cancel button somewhere, the Circle with the / through it.

"K" is the default button for your skills menu.

and you learn them by going to a trainer in a major city. although some smaller towns have specific trainers.

Thanks this really helped. I had to go back to Thunder Ridge so I could actually level them, because I was in the xroads and every monsters that's skinnable needed like 60-90 skill and i wa slike wtf.

Yeah.

That's how it is with fishing. I've been fishing for 30odd levels and I have skill level 14.

Fishing is boring to level up. It would be cool to have it though.
