Problems with KaZaA

I downloaded KaZaA a long time ago, but recently my computer has been having alot of problems, but it is not only me!! All my friends at school who use KaZaA is having the same problem. Heres a list of whats happening--
1. When I reboot my comp it always wants to run in safe mode and if I get lucky then it will allow me to get on normally.
2. My CPU is deleting alot of .VXD files and I'm sure that it isnt a virus because we had a Bellsouth CPU Technician come and check our comp out and all he said was "I'm sure that its not a virus, but something is wrong and we will get back to you if we find out what is wrong.
3. My CD-ROM drive makes alot of odd noises and it won't allow me to load anything that requires 4x CD speed, but in some rare cases it will let me, also I've never had this problem before, it always used to let me load BW with no problem.
4. It gives me an error code alot and it looks something like this '' NCP PPoA error .VXD'' and I have to constantly reinstall the software to run my DSL.
5. Most of the time when I boot the CPU up it says that it cannot detect a mouse or keyboard.
6. My Plug and Play BIOS is completly screwed and it won't allow me to install any new hardware.

That is the major problems and by the way my OS is Windows 98, 38.25 Gig HardDrive and I have the newiest RAM card I could afford which was 200$, but I cant remember how much RAM it has.

Hmmm. im not having those problems, maybe you downloaded a virus? What version of kazaa do you have?


btw, get rid of kazaa nd get KAZAALITE.

Kazaalite = kazaa with no spyware, and no bandwith caps

I have KaZaA v2, but I used to have p2p which sucked cuz it required SaveNow to run..

Kazaa burns up alot of harddisc space. Make sure you have at least 1 gig of hard disk unused, otherwize your comp might run wack (my old one had some similar problems). And about ur CD-rom drive, it may be the drive itself, and you might want to consiter replacing it (u can get a cd rom drive for like $20 or something, there really cheap, and not that hard to replace). Thats about all I can say about it. You may want to contact more tech support people.

I have a 28 gig's left and 1.08 of that is in music, I got rid of KaZaA and all the Spyware, now my computer is running fine, except for the damn Trojans that come with KaZaA. I can't get rid of them with Norton or Macafee, and the expert guy said I have to reformat. Is that true?

Get Ad-Aware. go to www.downloads.com and search for it. It removes all spyware from your computer.

I used to have the same problems but just not as long.It happened for about a day or so then it quit. My search and traffic buttons were inactive also. The best advice i could giva ya is scrap kazaa and get something else...there is alot of shit going on with kazaa.

any other nice programs like that , that you know of? im looking for a good program to free up RAM and a program to test my CPU speed and record its temperature.
