I havent found anyone with a solution yet. Some have told me it's my firewall, but I have Unblocked Starcraft and even tried shutting off my firewall. It was no good. Some times I get lucky and i download a map, but 95% of the time it wont dl thus not allowing the game to go. Also when i play online im really laggy even though I run CABLE and im not dling anything, no other programs open either.
I don't get whats going on. My old computer with 56k ran starcraft better then my much newer and faster computer has been.
HELP!!! PLEASE!!!!

Are you running on a new computer? Those XP's just aren't working so well with these old games. I suppose its time to move on? Nah, I've had the same problem; but backwards. No one could download the maps I would host. It didn't matter what type of map; UMS, melee, ffa, or whatever.
I fixed the solution though....

I quit and picked up D2 again. lol

Not all of them...
Newers computers just have problems with the older games for some reasons.
And it comes and goes? Something on the computer just can't be explained.
The best thing you can do is accept it, and find another game that works. lol.

All of my other games,(Warcraft, Counter Strike, BattleField, diablo 2) all work fine. Not one Problem. But now ive put starcraft in and it decides when to dl and when to not. Also if im playing anything other then 1v1 its really laggy. When in 1v1 super fast but other then that SLOW. I dont get it! All dling programs are closed!

Did you configure your windows firewall? If not, got to your Windows Control Panel, click on Security Center (or something of the kind), and select Windows Firewall. Then go to the tab Exceptions, click on Add, and write down StarCraft in the name, your IP in the respective area (if you don't know what it is, go to Start Menu, hit Run, write cmd, then type ipconfig and press enter. You can copy and paste it from here. Then write 6112 (usual B.Net door) and select TCP from the side. Then do the exact same thing again, but this time select UDP. Try now.

Thx tronga, that worked for the dling of the maps. But im still having problem with Lag. I Have a wireless connection with a cable connection. Whenever I join a multiple person game I lag and no one else does. I don't know why I lag. All programs are closed. But starcraft does put my cpu at 100% outPut. Is that the problem?

What, StarCraft puts your CPU at 100%? What's your CPU, exactly?

Maybe a 100000 Kiliherts / 2?

No, really, its not that uncommon. He probably has a computer from when SC came out or a half-year after that.

No, he said he had a 3 year old Dell computer..

My friend has a wireless connection and he has exactly the same problem as you have. If you didn't have a wireless connection, I'd bet you wouldn't have that problem. :huggles
