Problem installing SC:BW

Hey, I have no problem installing the original Starcraft, but when I install the expansion, it freezes halfway through the download. I tried this on another computer and it worked fine. What could cause just this one computer from preventing the expansion from installing? Its an almost brand new 2 Ghz computer 256 ram pretty good computer. If you have any ideas, please let them be known...

What version of windows is it? If u have a cd burner then do this:

-Start
-My computer
-Right click local drive
-Where it says enable DLA make sure its unchecked
-Restart with your disk in
-After installing download a no-cd crack

Thats what happened to me with my LoD, dunno maybe might work for you

when you say local drive you are referring to my C drive? I see no option for enabling DLA or whatever... hmmm...

Might have a bad CD, it happened to me with D2, when trying to install LOD, I though my computer couldnt handle it, so I doubled the ram, the GFX card, and boosted the processor...Needles to say, all that was wrong was I couldnt read a file from the origional D2 disk because it was scratched

Does that one computer have an internet connection? Because you might have done something bad, and your CD key was banned.

mendacity: no, i said it does work on one computer

tronga: both computers have the same internet connection and run off the same network. i don't even play the original starcraft when i install it, i simply install the first, go to install the expansion and it freezes halfway through on this one computer...

Try uninstalling then reinstalling

Wait.. You say it freezes half way through the download. What download?

Or do you mean installation? In that case, it's most likely a bad CD. Try making a copy of the BW CD, and use that, if you got a CD burner. If you can't make a copy, it's definetly a bad CD.

Play it on the old computer then...You don't need a uber computer to play SC...

never said it was an older computer, im trying to install it on my computer (which is does not work on) instead of my mom's computer (which it does work on) they are both about the same

Uninstall from both machines, and reinstall on moms

its not my computer, so i cant sit there and play games on it, and i already said ive tried to reinstall and it does the same exact thing

I'm saying uninstall it on your moms, then reinstall it to see if it still has the problem, if not, it's something messed up with your other computer

Dude, seriously, take my advice. Uninstall it on your moms, and reinstall it on that computer, to see if it works or not. If it does, then I have no idea, try ctrl/alt/del and getting rid some of the crap you prolly got runnin in the back

When it freezes does it freeze at StarDat.dll? same exact thing happened to me. i thought my cd was fine, but when i took a VERY close look at it i noticed this extreemly thing blue streek running down near the center. Do what Grieving Mendacity's advice first and see what happens. either if it works i dont know but if it doesnt then its definantly the cd. Its not a big loss to bye another one. There only $18

Burn the BW CD then try to re-install it on your computer. If everything you have tried in this thread doesn't work, you might just have to settle to buying BW from Walmart.
