Hi,
I recently installed diablo 2 with the expansion. I've had no error messages or any signs of incompatability, with the exception of an issue I run into when I try to configure the game controls. All of the functions work when I assign a key/button for them except for the 'skill' functions (1-15), and the 'select next/previous skill' functions. No matter what keys I assign these functions with (keyboard or mouse), nothing happens when I try them in the game.

I've got the newest patch and updated the latest drivers and tried reinstalling the game, but no luck. Can anyone help?

from what i know,t he only way to assign hotkeys for your skills is using the F keys (hover ur mouse over the skill and press whichever Fkey you would like it to be)

as for "next/previous skill" id idnt even know about that, heh

just hover your mouse of the skill you want and press f1-f8. and if you use more than that you can go up to f12. you just have to assign it to a hotkey and hit accept.

then to change the skill to what you like, just hit that hotkey. i use f2 for teleport on my hammer pally, f1 for hammers on the left side. and f3 for concentration.

Yeah, I assign them F1-F8 (if I even use that many)... but then instead of pressing the buttons, I roll the mouse wheel. Omg, I love that! That way my left hand thumb can rest on ALT (to quickly view drops) with my middle finger and index finger on 1 & 2 (just in case I need a sip of that funky purple juice).

You can also set the other skill hotkeys to other keys on your keyboard, i.e. z,x,c,v,b which are the ones I use, it makes it a whole lot easier on your hands imo. Once you assign the keys to new skill # in the key config, open up your skills on the bottom left or right, hover your mouse over the skill you want and press the desired button. Remember that some skills cannot be used as a left click, only certain ones.

I really dont know if that made sense or not.

honestly the best advice is to return the game and get your 30 bucks back.
it will save you alot of grief.
diablo has gone downhill so much and dont expect it to change.
blizzard dosnt even give a f*ck about the game anymore

Mouse wheel...

- roll one click up = previous skill
- roll one click down = next skill
