Thats not always true. Preserve trigger will keep repeating the trigger over and over, as long as the Conditions are being met everytime. The best example is, if the condition is "Always" and there is a preserve trigger, it will be an endless loop.

And yea.. this needs to be in the Wc3 map editor forum.

No he posted here because preserve trigger is Starcraft related and oviously he doesn't use SC triggering and some one must be using SC examples, to ask questions in the warcraft section.

In Warcraft 3 all triggers are "Preserved" and if you want it to only happen once you need to use something like "disable trigger" Then again i suck ass at war3 triggering, When i went to there forum for help I never receaved any usefull feed back.

I infact have spent much much time with the Warcraft 3 editor and yes i do finally understand it...of course not to its fulliest potential. Hell infact it was hard making a peasant(and only a peasant) going to a location and having something done.... I didn't relize that you needed a condition stating that "Triggering Unit = Peasant"

Yes the Wc3\Wc3x trigger editor is very hard ~_~, hell i have to retry my trigger like 5 times for them to work exactly how i want them... Infact it was hard for me to make a leaderboard to show how many kills a person has....hell now thats easier but still...that was hard compared to starcraft...

My bad.

I opened the Wc3 editor a few times. I would have tried to learn it, but Ive been so addicted to SC for the past 5 years, I decided to just stick with SC.

The Wc3 editor is definetly more powerful.. I love the ability to allow people to actually type in commands and initiate triggers.

Yeah, I would have to agree with you Rygon, the only thing I don't like about SC is that it doesn't have DOTA(Defense of the Ancients). It's a really fun game where you get a hero and then you attack people, well if you have the game then you get the point. I like SC much more.

Its not that hard to understand =P.

Preserve trigger repeats a trigger over and over again. Say you had a trigger that looked like this:

[Conditions]
Always

[Actions]
Create 1 Terran Marine At Explosion For Player 1
Kill 1 Terran Marine At Explosion For Player 1

Now, if you added preserve trigger at the bottom in the Actions, a marine would be created and instantly killed over and over and over into infinitey. Its called a loop.

Now, if you dont have a preserve trigger, the trigger will only happen once. Only one marine will be created and killed.

Make sure that the conditions are met. Always will make the trigger occur right at the very beggining of the game.
