I'll save the Republicans time. "Get a job."
Speaking from experience, it's not that simple.

It's not that simple indeed. Their probable lack of any kind of education will make it harder to get the jobs, among other factors.

But, well, while there are some guys that are really rich, there are others that are real poor... That's the world. Not only in the US.

It would be good if the not poor guys would actually contribute with, like, $10, to some kind of fund, so people could help the poor. But I guess that's what taxes are for, among other things...

On a side note, did you know that famine in the world does have a solution? There's enough food in this world to feed every single person. But it's more expensive to send the food to other countries than to burn it...

American taxes aren't used to help people who live in poverty (unlike Europe).

36 million is like 1/8 of the population of US? There are other countries where 1/2 the people live in poverty and have greater population than US.

[glow=red]I would try and make more schools, make education more available in the areas there those poor people live. Like opening community learning centers for those kids. I think Microsoft is already doing it in some places. Although, US has a competetive economy and bad thing about competiotion (depends how you look at it) is that some people have to loose for others to gain, those poor people are just the once who are at the buttom, and their competiotion is ahead of them. To solve that problem with poor people once and for all you gonna have to stop the competition and thats communism, and since you don't like it there will always be poor people. So you have to work to get the next second thing, educate as many of them as you can to give them a chance of a good life. That is my opinion.[/glow]

Is Russia a 1st world country? They had an estimated 25% of the population in poverty at the beginning of '03.

The UK was at 17%.

America was only at 12%.

So first it wasn't 1/8 of the country, and second, America's state isnt a massive problem comparatively.

[glow=red]Why do you have to tie Russia into this? Did i insult you in anyway by giving my opinion on what should be done? Yes there are a lot of poor people in Russia, but we are working to fix that problem. I haven't said anything about Russia in this thread and you are provocating me to start another useless country vs. country debate. Why?[/glow]

[glow=red]Thats because ORC is an english man and is my old time ally. But anyway, even if there isn't a lot of poverty in US it is still a problem, and every problem should have a solution. Besides 13% is a lot for a country with almost 300 million people. And no Russia isn't a first world country although we are second largest energy consumers, our economy mainly depends on raw materials like oil, gas, and gold.[/glow]

Perhaps because I hear on these forums how great and godly Russia is. Perhaps because he was asking for 1st world countries, so I named a few with Russia being one of them. Perhaps because if you can bring up America in thread after thread, than I can bring up Russia.

And there's your answer. And Ill ask you a question. Why do you automatically assume I said that to start a debate or insult your "homeland"? I was simply stating facts, stop overreacting. Geez...

A side note:

1st world, 2nd world and 3rd world were terms created during the Cold War, represeting the capitalist & freedom guys as the 1st world, comunist and alikes as 2nd world, and poor bastards who no one gives a shit about as the third world. I think, correct me if I am wrong.

Anyway, I really didn't know what to answer at Light's question... Russia was a 2nd world country, but is it now a 1st world country? Are these terms still used, other than the 3rd world?

In america there are schools all over for kids to get education. Its just some kids don't go. I skipped school all the time. Sometimes it is the parents fault. Some parents do drugs and have sex with random men. All that good stuff.

My mom is out of work, she has over 25+ years of experience but they won't give her a job either cause she is "over qualified", which is ****in bullshit, or she doesn't have a college education. Some times I really dislike America.

The percentage of poor black famlies to white poor families are prolly close why is this? Possibly stereotyping wont give them jobs, or they don't have the smarts. Who knows.
