Don't mean to be insulting, but when you say you have "opened up the ports," do you mean that you have checked the advanced tab in the router set-up and set port forwarding to be redirected to your IP address? Also, make sure that you have the IP set correctly; I use DHCP and every few weeks or on a power outage the IP addy gets reassigned and I have to reconfigure the router. Just been to lazy to to set everything static.

There is also another thread in here titled "no one joins my games" check that since a post indicated some other ports may be needed (although I have used 6112 and 6113 only with complete sucess).

Good luck.

If you have a linksys router, do this:

1. Go to START >> RUN and enter in cmd.exe, this will open the command prompt.
2. In the command prompt type IPCONFIG and copy down the number that starts with 192.168.1.###
3. Now, go online and enter 192.168.1.100, and prompt should appear asking for name and password. Type "(blank)" for the name, and "admin" for the password.
4. Go to the "advanced" tab.
5. Go to port forwarding tab.
6. Select the first port that can be forwarded, and check/enable everything, when it asks which port to be opened, enter the port you are currenlty using on wc3 (if your using 6112, tell it to forward from 6112-6112). When it asks which port, go find the number you copied down previously in step #2. Type into the box at the end (it should say 192.168.1. (blank)) the last three numbers of the number you copied down. They will most likely be 100, or 101. Check enable and you're done.
7. Apply the settings, hit "proceed" and then exit the linksys window. Restart your computer (for safety). Run warcraft III and go online. Try to host a map and see if people join. If nobody joins, while the computer is still ona nd wc3 is running, disable the port you forwarded.
8. Check the settings are like I said above. Make any necessary changes.
9. Restart your computer, re-enable it with the new settings.
10. Restart again, now it should work. If not you made a mistake.

I might help to set up a DMZ to the LAN IP of your computer. That would forward all ports, exept the ones specified manualy.

Go to where you would usualy edit the Ports, there is a sub-catagory called DMZ, click it, then foward it to the LAN IP of your computer.

To find the LAN IP, go to Start Menu, Run, type in command then press enter, then type ipconfig then press enter. This WILL NOT change settings.

Will you have to do that once? Or would you have to do it over and over again everytime you like restart your computer?

Thanks :D

You just gotta do the whole thing once. Once set it stays working generally.

3. Now, go online and enter 192.168.1.100, and prompt should appear asking for name and password. Type "(blank)" for the name, and "admin" for the password.

3(updated). Go onto internet explorer, netscape or whatever the hell you use and enter into the Address (or url) line 192.168.1.100, a prompt should appear asking for name and password. Type " "(blank) for the name, and "admin" for the password.

Well I'm far from a networking wizard also, but . . . . isn't 192.168.1.100 most likely the IP of HIS computer and not the router? I think the router would be at 192.168.1.1 (which also would be his default gateway). At least with my Linksys setup it is and it starts assigning IPs using DHCP from .100.

In any event, try 192.168.1.1 instead in IE Also, go to Start|Run in the taskbar and type "command" and click OK to open up a command window (like a good old DOS prompt). Type IPCONFIG and hit enter. Copy and paste what you get in a message here (BTW, you click in upper left of the window and select Edit|mark to enable marking of text in the window) - mine looks like this and yours should be similar:

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

That should help us understand your setup better and tell you where to go next.

Hope it helps.

O.K. -- you IP is 192.168.1.101, your router is at 192.168.1.1. I assume you have a broadband "always on" connection like DSL or cable. You be able to follow tassadar's instructions from #3, only type 192.168.1.1 into IE. In step 5, mine merely says "forwarding." In step 6, use 101 (that is 192.168.1.101) and I would forward both 6112 and 6113, which I have done with success. I'll try and attach a JPG screenshot of my router page showing the port forwarding and hopefully yours looks similar.

Let us know if you have luck in getting in and configuring it.

Yup yours is differnet MysticX, though it is exactly what mine looks like :).

Set the first Ext. Port to 6112, and the second box to 6113.
Check "Protocol TCP and UDP"
Set the IP Address to that of your computer (i'm guessing 192.168.1.100)
And Enable

PLEASE NOTE: If you add ANOTHER computer to the routers connection, it may change this computers IP Adress and you will have to update the settings in the port forwarding.

Tassadar, I think we found his IP is 101 (currently) so he should type that. I think you should make it looks like the attached. Sorry to hash this out in the wrong forum folks.
