Hello,
I'm new both at forums and Starcraft. Is there a possibility to play with my friend via internet but not on the Battle.net? Maybe a similar program to Warcraft's "Battle.lan" which let u play with friend over the his IP in the Multiplayer's Lan seciton.

You can create a LAN game, but I'm not sure if that extends over the internet. I just know that LAN games are possible. However, if you can't, Battle.net or some private server is your only real option.

No Lan game doesn't extends oer the intenet for sure and that's why I'm asking if there is any program like Battle.Lan which does that for Starcraft.

Starcraft supports "spawning". You will have to install Starcraft "Spawn" on your friends computer, then he can join any game you create on battle.net.

I heard about GIT (Gamer's Internet Tunnel) program which creates a tunnel between tweo computers allowing them to play via the internet just as they are in LAN network, shall see if it works.

First question: Why not play over Battle.net? Its the best type of server out there. Play on MSN or GAmespy and you'll see why I say that.

SEcond, Lan would be the only other way to do it.

People do seem to be missing my posts lately...

GameTunnel does not work. Starcraft requries a UDP connection, GameTunnel works only with TCP. Why can't you just install spawn?

B.net is still a good server! But I don't know why the East realm is getting rundown by AZN's. Seriously, all those DFG#FG#REG symbols for all the games. Aren't there 3, count them 3, Asian realms! That's what's probably slowing down battle.net. People don't understand its not the NAME of the server thats cool, but the place in which they live and where they are closer to that server connection. *starts to stroke*

Networking, LAN or "spawning". Or just make a private game on B.Net, Is that too hard?

There is a game server I've heard about called Kali which I believe supports StarCraft, but you'd have to look into that, and it's naturally got less people playing StarCraft on it than Battle.net.
