Reading this, I was tempted to complain about something. Want to know what that was? Salary. Why think and complain about salary?
*looks at what some of these players are paid and how easily they live the lap of luxury*
*looks at business men and doctors who people complain about constantly as being "rich"*
I like sports. I watch Football and Baseball all the time. I believe that people should be paid for doing a service, and entertainment is a service. I don't believe, however, that people should get so abhorently worked up over things. How does this relate to salary, you ask? It does, and it doesn't.
It does because people get worked up about a doctor making $200k or more a year yet getting to actually spend less than half of that on their family and themselves because they have to pay more bills than the average man (office, home, employees, etc.). The same goes for the business man. You guys, sickingly, praise these "sports heros" when they bring home a trophy and scoff a hard-working professional serviceman for earning an honest buck. It sickens me to no end.
It doesn't because, though a player can easily make $2 million a year, people get worked up over people they've never met and teams they may never see play. What's my "hometeam" you ask? I have none. There is no Nebraska team -- which is where I was born, nor is there a professional Air Force team -- which is "where" I was raised. There is a Charlotte team, but I've never liked them or basketball too much. I'm a baseball fan, myself.
If it weren't for certain people, I wouldn't even know that Detroit housed the Pistons and LA housed the Lakers. Why do you people care so much? It's not like you're actually playing. It's fun. I can understand the excitement running during the game and even shortly afterwords. But to brag about a team you aren't even on days, weeks, and even months after the final count is made...is, utterly, rediculous. Who cares?!
I suppose some of you are asking, "Is he a Lakers fan and just disappointed?" To that, I will answer calmly, "No." Your next question might be, "Who, then?" I would then look at you and answer, "Well. To be perfectly honest, I've always been partial to the Bulls. I don't change "alliances" just because they slip. It's part of nature to have ups and downs." In other words, I, frankly, don't care.
