I've come to the point in my life, at the university, where I have to pick a degree. I'm not somebody who went in with a plan and I'm still don't have a plan. I'm not good at math, I'm terrible with foreign languages, and I'm not really good with anything scholastic. I have no real idea of what I want to do. It sucks. Help.

Instead of telling us what you're not good at, tell us what you are good at. Or, at the very least, tell us what you wish you were good at, but aren't. There are thousands of degrees out there and it's easier to find several of interest rather than prune them.*

I'm not good at anything. I don't want to end up getting bogged down in some office somewhere. I will end up commiting suicide if that were the case.

What do you like? See if any majors can come close to it.

If you have a careerer development center or something like that i suggest you go there and tell them your story. They help a lot

And by private yacht, I really meant on foot, with a backpack, in a foreign hostile ex-communist nation, busy selling our starved diseased bodies for a few euros, maybe enough not to sleep in the rain again.

Anyway, thats how I see my post-university years, building caracter and all that.

Then go learn a foreign language and travel or something. Or consider if a degree is even worth considering.*

**** whatever you're not good at, just do something you enjoy. Then at least you'll actually care about your degree and want to do well.

I can see Jenny as one of those people who works the ticket booth at the movie theater until she's in her late forties and going bald.

Seriously though? Bartender at a nice club. It's social, relatively easy on people who aren't math-minded or booksmart, and it's more interesting than a deskjob. Probably your hardest task will be memorizing all the drinks, and I'd guess you already know a few anyways. May not be a glorious job, but it could pay the bills without leeching your soul a little bit every day.

Insults aside, I could actually see Jenny doing pretty well in that sorta job. This would also let you choose whatever degree you would like to have simply because you enjoy it, as I don't think you need a degree for that, only a license.

What types of majors does your school offer? It will help in deciding what you should do or whether you should transfer.

you really should tell us what you are good at, and what you like to do. I recently had to make that decision myself, so I know right where you are in all this.

I like this idea. Does your school offer human anatomy courses?

uhh don't you apply to a specific program/major when you are just about to finish high school? Or is that just how we do it in Canadaland.
