1) Make sure your server supports PHP and MySQL databases. If you're not sure, contact your web hosting provider.

2) Upload all contents to a directory in your site using an FTP client. Drag n' Drop clients save you more time (such as CuteFTP).

3) If you have cPanel, log into your cPanel and click on "MySQL databases." Create a database, user, and add permissions to the database.

4) Run phpBB install script and enter valid information.

You need to create a database through your cpanel. It depends on your host if he gave you one. If he/she didnt you will need to contact them. Unless its a free host or something, or doesnt allow mysql or php.

Invision is far better and you can use that for free as well. But phpBB is easier, so I suppose if you are inexperienced with forum administration you should probably go ahead and use that.

Yeah this is my first ever Forum iam making from a real host and not those free angelfire bull crap. Its a learning experience though, iam getting better i think.

It is telling you to open a certain PHP file and search for the specific code then replace it, add something before or after it, or whatever the readme tells you to.
