Password protection

you can use scm toolkit to encrypt protect a map....you can then unprotect with the password, but you would have to unprotect/reprotect every time you wanted to edit it....but i have not heard of one where it prompts of the password when you open the map with an editor....(unless the editor you were using was scm toolkit)

nope not from the scm toolkit, when u attempt to open the map a little box pops up and asks for your password and if its wrong it closes your editor

Knwn, since you haven't been here for long, I'll excuse it, but don't double post. Instead wait until someone else posts or use the "edit" button at the bottom of your post. Yes, SCM Toolkit can do this, but why do that when you can use GUEdit easier and you can make a back-up copy so if you need to change it, you can just use the back-up file, make another back-up file and protect it with GUEdit fixed. That's how I do it.

the double post was an accident the first time it came up as "error finding link. if link is valid please report it to the webmaster" so i simple went back and re-posted.

allso im just looking for that protector and if n e 1 knows where to find it please say so

Yea, I've even seen stand-alone programs do that. Although they are basically the exact same, they have different IDE's.
