Paranormal Orbs have appeared in many photos, what are they?

I have seen hundreds if not thousands of photographs that contain strage "orbs". Some people say they are used by other races ie aliens to "spy" on us. Others believe that they are some sort of paranormal energy that leaves our bodies after we die. Anyone have a clear rational or irrational explanation for these?

These 'orbs' are just the camera lens flare effect. The same thing will happen if you take a picture of the sun (at an angle).

I'm curious, if you don't know where these fame from, why are you hosting them at a site called alienUFOart?
