Im pretty happy with my protectin tree paladin with skills like redoubt and reckoning and holy shield but all the paladins i see are either mixed tree or redemption 2handers. Am i missing something that i dont know about?

Yeah i followed your build for a while until i noticed that divine favor (while it is very good) is not that useful in instances where you always have a priest or a druid (my situations at least) I found it better to just sink all my eggs in protection so that I can tank well because there are little to none protection tree warriors

They are good but Warriors and Priests are drastically better. Same would go for Shaman.

Oh and Ret. is only good for dueling and the blessing of kings (i still prefer wisdom buff). Reckoning, Redoubt,Holy Shield and the fact that protection pallys have like 30% more armor than ret. pallys makes tanking easier (if you have the balls to use Seal of Fury in instances).

i went heavy protection and some retribution. nothing like them critting you :).

FYI, when they crit me, i get to hit them two times on my next swing (reckoning), i gain redoubt which adds 30% block rate, and i almost always have holy shield on during a duel, so thats actually around 70% block rate. its a great dueling weapon, and a GREAT anti-rogue method.

I'm going Retribution with light Holy & Protection. Something like 13/10/28. Dwarf Paladins are to be 2-handers in my opinion.

If they are 2-handers and go Holy + Protection (Humans should be Holy + Protection with Shield + Sword IMO) then they can't get the 2-handed specialty in the Retribution skills... such a waste, you are correct.

Gah, i got it wrong, it's 10/10/31, so it's definately Retribution for me :D Basically i've maxed the first 3 talents in Holy, maxed Devotion Aura and Toughness in Protection, and the rest in Retribution. (I still could be wrong with my numbers)

what would kick more ass would be if you could reach holy shield, and grab blessing of kings too. unfortunately theres not enough talents for that yet.

whats great is that protection pallys dominate tankage wise, i have nearly 7000 armor at lvl 51.

I don't know much about pally builds but if a pally is retribution doesnt it make more sense to use a shield for that extra armor you loose from not using Devotion Aura.

A tip for pallys vs rogues always use retribution aura and any type of armor you can find that adds damage to the attackers when they attack. It GGs rogues.

That's why i'm using Dev Aura (And whacking 5/5 talent points into it) because i'm a two-hander. Is Ret Aura really that good? I read up on it and when i saw it, i was like 'Wtf, what a gay aura'. I might have to stick to finding thorny armor :D

There is a Retribution TALENT TREE, we are talking about that and not the aura steve-o ;)
