Yes, I know I said this a lot of time, etc, etc. But I do love it. Besides, I've just made a game with swordtip where the Dark Archon saved me from losing one single unit against around 20 mutas... I just love it, against PvZ, with maelstrom, and PvP, with feedback, to kill templars. Against Terra, it isn't that good, except against science vessels and BCs...

i was playing helms deep adn i saw that you could make a DA. wasted 2 DT

it didn't have mind control or malstrom only feedback and what good is that when the enemy is only hydra and lings?

Tronga, i must say, over these past few months, you have swayed me. I've used DA's whenever i get the chance (Except against Terran).

Here's a PvP (A random public match) where i used about 3 (I think) DA's to annihilate my opponents HT's, he couldn't even Storm once!!!

I'd like to think i played that well. Enjoy.

PS> Dark Archons rock. GOGO DA!!!

PPS> I hope this is the right replay :-/

In the short-run, possibly. But it'd only be expensive against Zerg, because of Maelstrom. Otherwise the already-researched Feedback is sufficient against Protoss.
When you think about it though, HT's aren't really necessary against Protoss.

@Tronga - Thanks. I've been practising. Hopefully we can 1v1 someday soon.

250 minerals, 200 gas and 4 psi. It is expensive. But definetly worth it in PvP, as a Templar murderer. Don't forget that the templars cost 150 gas, and by killing it using Feedback, you basicly made your enemy waste it. Killing two templars make it already worth it. It's not necessery to have more than one, though. In PvZ, they excel against air, along with Templars, because of the maelstrom.

i found it pretty funny that u stopped his mutalisk raid with good DA and few stroms, and that u mc a drone near the end. too bad he couldn't even do anything about it. too bad u couldn't have many air units. with only sukens for def and most of them outside, u could have ended it sooner

It turns the enemy's mana into damage.

The Dark Archon is a wonderous unit. It has some very awesome abilities. Mind Control is a must, but not always needed in my opinions. Maelstrom + Psionic Storm is hell on a zerg fleet of mutalisks, that's what i used to do. Hallucination DA's and have them infront, and then have HT's use Psionic Storm to destroy Zerg Air and Clustered Ground units. Thing's have probably changed though since I stopped playing, but yea. Feedback is useful on nasty spellcasters, such as BC's, Wraiths (Damn Cloak) Ghosts (Nukes are bad for Protoss bases) Defilers (Sp?) (Plague can runi your cannons, trust me) just anything that is a potential threat spellwise, whicvh is a lot of things. Overall they are great. But expensive. But well worth it if you utalize them correctly. :D

Not at all. It's just that it's only useful on VERY RARE occasions. I also don't like that it loses shields when casting it, either. 150 mana is ALOT of energy. So unless you're playing a slow paced game, it won't really help you. You can say the same for queens' spawn broodling and any other 150 mana spell.
