I recently just purchased a new 19" lcd flat screen monitor for my computer, and I just reinstalled wc3.

Every other game that I have works fine, WoW, HL2, Q4, CS, Diablo II.. so on.

When I load up WC3 however, it get a monitor msg with a black screen and a red box saying " Out of Range " altho the sound and the game continue to play, I cannot see the game itself.

Any ideas? Cause I'm all out of options. I've tried changing the desktop resolution.. does nothing. I can't change the game resolution.. well.. because I can't see it. lol, just that annoying red box and its out of range? Whatever the hell that means.

Anywho, I'd appriciate it if someone could lend me a hand or has gone through this themselves. Just not sure why this monitor would cause it when it doesn't conflict with any other game?

Out of range generally means your resolution or refresh rate went out of the range of what the monitor can handle. If the game sounds are still there, the game didn't crash, which means it is a hardware problem. Likely, change the refresh rate, and the resolution. T

ok.. now im confused.

I try setting my desktop resolution to 800x600 and what do you know??

"Out of range"

What the hell is going on? I tried setting my resolution to 1028x746 and still it doesnt work. No other games give me this problem except WC3.

Any ideas?

Your cheapest bet is to go with pan's suggestion, your best bet would be to buy a decent graphics card from newegg.com

I have a decent vid card, nvidia 6600 256gt.

And if you have read what I have wrote, you will see that I tried changing the resolution, yet the problem persists. Why does this monitor conflict with the vid card then? And why would this problem only happen to wc3.

I found 85mhz to be the best for everything.

That error message alone brought back nightmares, set the refresh rate to 60 mhz and possible turn off AGP Fast Writes.
