Orb Sorceress Build?

I pray someone still plays these kinds or Sorcs, because I don't want to make any other kind. Blizzard is boring as far as ice sorceresses go (in my opinion) and I don't dwell into the other elements because Orb is such a sexy skill. Thing is, I'm not sure what I'd max or do as far as skills go, or stats. Any advice is much appreciated. :)

thats pretty much right. i think orb only has 1 or 2 syenergies. also. thunderstorm is a very useful skill to dump points in. not only for immunes but overall damage.

^^ ya and the 2 synergies are frozen spike and blizzard i think...
Ill go check a site calculater.

It takes about 70 skills to make it descent, that's with jsut lvling, no other things done.

The only synergy to FO is ice bolt iirc, so max that, orb, cold mastery, 1 to whatever teleport/shield/warmth etc, I tend to dump the rest of the points into fireball with a few in each synergy/mastery for it so you can kill cold immune things without relying on your merc.

Mmm...when I had my old sorceress, I made her 1.09ish. I went mana shield for one thing. My extra points went into Shiver Armor though. I could invest in a different element, but with the friends Ik have, I could probably get Infinity on my Merc which basically negates cold immunes to an extent. So I'd want to pour my points into a different cold skill, one of the armors, or maybe even TS. :O

TS is totally useless without synergies or a ton of lightning gear, but that's just my opinion. It won't kill shit in hell, especially those annoying superuniques that tend to be immune to both cold and light for who knows what reason :p

heh. if you put 10 points in ts, + all the skills from charms and items you will probably have decent damage.

i had one skill in it and with my mfer with only like +7 or 8 to skills i did over 1k dmg, like 1.2k i think, something like that, it was good with lite mastery, kinda heh

Again, 1.2K light damage every few seconds in hell doesn't help that much... yes a good FO does 1.2K, but that's per ice bolt. With fireball it gets the synergies+mastery you could probably get more damage, not to mention it'd attack faster and specifically v.s. the cold immune targets. It'd be interesting if someone did a damage/second comparison with the same gear.

actually you would be suprised. my orb sorce had 1.3k ts and it helped quite abit. trust me. ts is a good place to put spare points. its not like it's your main attack.

Hrm, TS+Orb+Nova. Then the damm synergies came along and instead of having cookie cutter builds with multiple skills, we have them with 1 to 2 skills and maxed out synergy skills that most people never even use anyways >_<

Yeah. >_<

I'm indecisive on whether or not to go TS, a fire skill, or dump the rest of my points into a frozen armor skill...I know I can get infinity for my Mercenary like I said. So the immunes wouldn't be as much of a problem as they normally would. Trying to think which would help me more in the long run. >_<

If your merc will be able to deal with immunes well, dump the points into shiver armor or something similar (I personally like shiver armor... chilling armor isn't that great).

just make sure you DO use the synergies ryan, lets not forget about your first orb sorc back in the day... ;p

infinity is a runeword put onto your merc, it greatly reduces enemy resistance, a necesity for huge extra damage for casters

and ryan, how can u say she rocked, i remember this exact quote from your second sorc in 1.10:

"dude, u were right, now that i have synergies i ****in pwn!"
