First, reboot and see if it works then. If not, try reinstalling.

Get rid of those damn viruses, don't let them sit there until they actually work.

Otherwise, do what JD said.

Check your disk for scratches / smudges and clean it thoroughly. Also check for viruses / trojans / spyware and reboot.

It ain't that and I can't find the virus's. They just alerted me when I got them and now i can't locate them. And if i reunistalled it would I lose all my map's from the editior if so **** that ideal.

O and last night it started working like normal but now it's back to TAKING 20 MINS AND TELLING ME THE DISK ISN'T IN IT :shoot

Just copy all your maps into a seperate folder on your hard drive. Reinstall then copy the maps back in.

How old is your pc? If its over 2 years old, it would be better to buy a new one.

Otherwise, run a virus scan, Norton works ok. Also check for tojans, worms, ad/spyware, etc... Reboot, MAKE SURE the disc is NOT in the tray! My old pc screws up when I reboot or shutdown the thing with the disc still in the tray.

If all else fails, hit the PC with a heavy hammer! :rollie

Occasionally, the "no disc" error occurs when the CDROM needs cleaning, or the CD is in awful condition and needs cleaning--but, of course, with the CDROM strengths nowadays, it usually means the laser might be going out on it.
If it first started happening with burned discs, and then started going to scuffed discs, and then it starts having trouble reading good discs, then the CDROM is going out and will probably need to be replaced. Most of the time, unless you know what you're doing with computer hardware really well and want to spend time opening and cleaning it, you can go out and buy a CDROM in an emergency for around $30 USD.
Also, if the virus wasn't caught when it first entered your computer, it could have screwed stuff up. I had a virus infect my .exe files before, and even after I cleaned it with Bullguard, the more advanced programs would sometimes be corrupted and be unable to run. I had to eventually reformat. BUT, don't do that until all else fails.

What you need is a program called Game Drive. It's $20, but saves you from ever using any CD's for any PC games, ever. Get that, install it, and then you can copy the WC3 CD's onto your harddrive, and make an image of it the Game Drive will use - it'll trick the computer into thinking you just inserted the CD - but it actually has redirected it to the folder where the image of the CD is, and it runs faster, because of no load times and what not, and no problems with your CD drive's laser, or CD scratches, no CD to cause that - so try that if this problem persists.

Eh, is it reliable? I mean, if it is, then by all means take free over $20, but Game Drive has some nice features, and that price has probably dropped since last I seen it.
