Ok, What happened to Battleforums...

Yeah, other than being down for nearly a month..

I read the Introductions forum and read all the info about the Battleforums domain and everything being down... but how did that all happen?

Why did it take so long to get it fixed?

What happened anyway?

Did someone hack the site or something?

*is fustrated after the long weary weeks of waiting*

Chris took BF off the database because of security issues, and its just been bought/put up by crook.

As I have been told it is a long story, I have only been told the simple version of ChrisUK pulling the plug on the forums when he saw what TheSummit did. I am almost positive that there is more there, but I didnt feel like being nosy.

The forums are still messed up for me, every time I try to post or go to a new page it does the "Page Cannot be Displayed" thing and I have to go back and click the link again. I hope they fix Battle Forums soon, it's really starting to get on my nerves.

I think what happened was that Chris said "bye bye bf" when he saw what Summit did. Then Crooked purchased the forum but there are having trouble with the domain. We hang for here for now.

I've told the story so many times, I cant remember if I ever posted an official version or not.

But here we go.

After Chris saw what Summit had done, he got to looking around and found that Summit had been into the servers data base.
Even though I highly doubt that Summit was doing any lasting damage, or getting into any of Chris's other sites.
Chris pulled the plug because he felt BF was now too much of a liability to his other investments.
In many ways I can't blaim him.

I got Chris to answer my emails, and offered to buy the site if I could afford it.
I couldn't, but found backers.

We still have server and database issues to get figured out, but we're getting there.
They are as agrivating to me as they are to you.

If we can keep the place running in the black, we have some ideas for the site that you guys will like.
If we cant????
Let's not think about that right now.

Enjoy the forums, tell a friend or ten, when things seem more stable, I'll mass email the rest of the members to let them know we are back.

i love when people just wait for the right opportunity to bash on the states one way or another...so desperate to get their veiws across they end up looking like 12 yr old little school boys who still argue over who's dad is better and what countries are better.....but the BEST part is when they give no, or lame reasons why they are better...

For the most part, Summit was performing repairs to the VB code.
In the end he pulled his signature, avitar, and title pranks.

I honestly doubt he was doing anything in the database beyond Battleforums, but Chris decided to pull the plug anyway.
