I've been working on a new render for over 12 hours now and every damn time I go to render it, it starts, gets half way done, then this GODDAMN PIECE OF SHIT VAIO gives me a goddamn "Windows Virtual Memory Low" messages! It is here that I'm forced to shut this POS down and start all ****ing over again! I've tried different sizes, different textures, but I keep getting that ****ING message!

I've desided to stop working with 3D until I can find out how the hell to keep those ****ing messages from poping up, or I get a new goddamn PC!

If ANYONE out there can tell me what the hell is going on with this thing, please DO so!

Computer Specifications:
Processor: 2.40B GHz1 Intel® Pentium® 4
Hard Disk Drive: 80 GB (7200 RPM) C = 15 GB (2.07 GB Free) / D = 65 GB (53.6 GB Free)
Standard Memory (RAM): 512 MB PC2700 DDR-SDRAM, expandable to 1.0 GB
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce4 MX 440
Video Memory (VRAM): 64 MB (128-bit)
Sound Capabilities: Yamaha YMF-753
DVD±RW
Expansion Capabilities: Hard disk drive bay, PCI slot

I'm about ready to take a goddamn hammer to this thing, please for the love of art, tell me what I can do to fix my problem!

(Sorry for the language, I am just really pissed right now!)

Which program? Max 5 is pretty intensive, but some others like its predecessor, Max 4 aren't.

Try killing processes like AIM and Yahoo! Messenger, and do a spyware scan.*

Why do some people have like a phobia of upgrading? And it is usually only one type of hardware. Like my friend, he'll get extra diskspace no problem, but he never wants to get more ram. Another friend of mine will get a new graphics card but never wants to get a new mouse.

I told you to get more ram in the other thread.
Ok, maybe a different question will get me the answers I NEED!

How do I find out what RAM I need and where to get it!?

You would think I could get some support in a tech support forum!

OMG... he does not need new RAM, or more for that matter :madatu !! I posted a response to someone who was having the same trouble with a Virtual Memmory Low error message popping up. I will copy and paste that into here but I suggest you see what I wrote in response to his question... It i called " New Computer?" in this forum. Well, here it is:

Right-click on your MY COMPUTER icon and go to PROPERTIES. Then go to the ADVANCED tab and then under the "Performance" blue text, click on SETTINGS. Next, you'll have a new window that will pop up and there will be two tabs there: "Visual Effects" and "Advanced". Click on the "Advanced" tab and then go down to the bottom portion of that window that says "Virtual Memory" in blue text and click on the "Change" button. In the new window that it brings up, click on the bubble that says "Custom Size" and then type in " 1536 " in both the top and bottom text boxes (this value is supposed to be 1.5 to 3 times the ammount of the MB of your total memory), but type in 1536. Do that for both of your Hard Drives and click "Set" and then OK. That will get rid of the "Virtual Memory" error message, but will not neccessarily get rid of choppy graphics.
