The economy system, that is. And i need a bit of guidance you could say. I'm thoroughly bored with farming, i hate it with a passion, so i took a page from the book of SouleSS and decided to buy and sell things on the Auction House. I have around 170 gold and have already begun to buy thing that newbs have put as low buyouts and tried to resell them.

My question is this: Is there alot of risk when it comes to this sort of a profession (For want of a better word)? I can see a few epics that cost about as much gold as i have, but i could easily resell them for higher, should i do this? Or should i start small with the lowbie blues and work my way up? And are there any items i should look out for?

I don't have an AH-mod of any type, can anyone suggest any? Should i get one?

This thread is more or less directed at Mike, but if anyone else does the same, i'd appreciate your input.

Just as a word of caution, buying's going to slow down while people are out upgrading their epics to the new level 61+ greens. I'd be careful about trying to play the "Primitive WoW Stock Market" I've come to know it as when those epics become the new greys and whites.

Other than that, sorry I can't give you any real advice.

I'll tear out an advanced page of the book of SouLeSS.

Always have auctioneer loaded.
Search enchanting recipes for anything "Superior" or "Major". You can ALWAYS find someone to buy even the shitty stuff no one will buy (Superior Spirit, come on now) for around 15g regardless of server, yet you can always find people selling it for around 2-5g.
Epics are VERY tricky, and most of the time not worth it. The only epic things I've ever bought and sold back were Darkmoon Faire decks, and a NS belt that some guy sold me for 200g, because he "desperatly needed the money". Made about 1k off that, but thats besides the point.
Always sit in trade channels and the minute someone spams "Selling Shadowblade" or any of the lvl 19 twink items, respond to them with a "i'll buy such and such for 40g". You'll hook a LOT of them this way. Then just sell it back for your servers value (most of mine are 200-400). You have to do this fast though, as most of the time after the second or third spam people will start to offer 100g+ and then it's just not really worth it.
Patience is the biggest key though. You have to be willing to take a 200g dive for an item that you think might sell, but then takes about a month to (like my beasts deck. Holy shit, I paid 150g for it and took around 3 weeks to finally get rid of, and for a while I was gonna take 150g back for it. Finally found some guy to buy it out at 280 though)

The version I have is full. Enchantrix, Auctioneer, Lootsell, extended tooltip...few other things, totally forgot what they were, but it works fine. Every now and then the auctioneer screws up when I'm scanning all the pages of the AH, but it's always done that on my UI setup.

Hmm, that's odd. Must be a different mod, because the original auctioneer hasn't been made compatible yet.
