I'm incredibly new here, and I'm assured that people have probably already asked this question, or at least something similar to it.

So, I'll start with the backstory; I'm a map maker, made quite a few of them as well, but, that's aside the point. Moving on, I use Starforge on my brother's PC, yet I recently acquired a new apple iMac. It has an intel chip, so now I am running Windows via the program by the name of "Parallels". Summary: It all worked, happy ending.

Or...maybe not? I mainly wanted windows for the use of Starforge, but there are several problems with it at the moment. First, it says I require Windows Office 2000 Professional to even run it. Although on my brother's PC, it said nothing of it. Secondly, if i somehow manage to randomly avoid downloading the latest version of Windows Office 2000 Professional, it says it cannot access the StarDat.mpq file. I copied my windows version of Starcraft onto my parallels. But still, I cannot start up Starforge.

So, a summary? I cannot start up Starforge because of two reasons, 1: Says i require Windows Office 2000 Professional to run it. 2: Says it cannot access the Stardat.mpq file.

Any help here?

Don't know much about StarForge itself, but I would assume it's an issue with Parallels. Is it really necessary for you to run two OSes at once? If not, then I'd go with Boot Camp instead if you can, which to my experience, has been a more reliable way to boot into Windows.

Also, do you have a legit copy of Windows? Again, just a guess.

If all this fails, I'd suggest trying SCMDraft. Easier to use than StarForge, plus it can do everything StarForge can.
