When engaged in a battle, who do u focus fire on? I see that many players go for the hero, but i just move my hero around and take it out of the line of fire. But many experienced players go straight for the hero, wat is ur opinion?? the hero or straight for his army?

Go for the hero only if you think you can kill it, or you need to force it away (like a DH with imolation in the middle of your casters). I usually don't focus on the hero unless Im almost sure I can kill it.

It's kinda hard to pinpoint, especially when controlling a large army. What I do is split the heroes, ranged, flying and melee units apart with Ctrl+1 and Ctrl+2 etc and use them to focus. Usually I use the ranged and flying to destroy the melee heroes (I play NE too much ), the heroes to focus on the other units and the melee to attack+move. The F1, F2 and F3 keys are useful to highlight the heroes. If you need some practice, play a lot of Counterstrike. It helps your reflexes. Oh, and moving your hero around is not a great idea, since you neglect your army. A hero cannot take on another army himself without its own army, but an army without a hero can take on one with a hero. Just keep an eye out on your hero at the side. Turning the formation off helps keep your hero safer as well.

Hero first Unless:

-Casters are giving me hell, then I go for them
-they have mass air, in which case the hero is as good as dead against all my melee
-or my partners came from one direction and I came from another, so I take what comes my way.

I let my units deal with the units. The soldiers were made for battle, let them do that. But i send both my heros to attack the hero. I will send frost nova and sleep to heros. Why kill them, mame them, get XP from the army you kill then target and surround the hero after the batte. and if they are a sleep they can't teleport while if u attack them during battle they will run or teleport and u lose everything. Also if u have all ur units attack a hero, the enemys army ill slaugther you and you end up with a hero whos half dead and you have no army while giving the enemy hero a level or 2 even if he dies.

Priority for me: Last units (Taurens, Chimaeras etc), flying, heroes and ranged. Then some will attack the melee anyway.

I usualy let the meele attack whatever. i focus spell casters on heros or main units. and ranged attack meele. my hero will use magic attack=s on opposing hero also. this is the battle that almost alwasy takes place.
