Are you trying to further decrease our small population of StarCraft Map Makers by linking to an outside site. :ufo

I'm happy to tell you, that it's impossible to send serious viruses that will damage your computer.

The reason why, is because the memory location editing is limited to a 65535 unit ID limit, restricting the range to starcraft-only memory.

They page says it is unknown if they recieved a virus or not.
Beside, Blizzard doesn't just go opening everything they recieve without fully scanning and searching it for harmful things.
I doubt there is a way to sent a virus through UMS games. Not likely, but I suppose it could happen.
All of it is just rumors, and frankly 99.989% of the rumors we hear are false.

Its impossible to get anything BUT a map though battle.net... The only way they could send you a virus would be to place a URL in the discription field and hope some senceless moron will click on it, and then click the DOWNLOAD THE COOL STUFF HERE!!! link on the page... You get the idea..

there used to be a hack out for one of the very early versions of starcraft that allowed u to have a floating, permatently cloaked zealot running amok in games.

You coan put a virus in a map because it is an MPQ Archive. I could make .TXT document that states "I R T3H R0XX0RZ WTFZ0RZ" and put it in a StarCraft map, you could also theoretically put a StarCraft map into a StarCraft map. However, none of those would ever run in the map, the only thing that does is the scenario.CHK and wav files. You would have to extract programs and run them in order to have a virus from a StarCraft map cause any harm.
