Nydus glitch

I was playing zero clutter with some dude named gwar yesterday.. he was like watch this i will nydus glitch. i was like what?? anyways, he made a nydus canal, and made the exit in the enemy base. thing was, the exit was invisible! the enemy could not destroy the exit, because it was as if it wasnt there at all... yet he could still transport units thru it!

I begged him to let me in on his secret.. heres what he told me:

make a worm into an egg. then hotkey the egg. next, make the nydus canal exit. quickly select the nydus exit, then press the egg hotkey, then cancel the egg.

Seems kinda weird to me too! cuz i couldnt get it to work... i guess he got tired of my questions and he told me to come here and figure it out for myself. I couldnt find any posts about it, so would anyone care to fill me in?

That is incorrect. There is a glitch with the Nydus Canal executed similarly to the selection glitch allowing stacked Hydralisks that screws up the exit point of the Nydus. It was explained in detail here, but since the site is being re-done right now, you can't read it at this point in time.

Anyways, his vague explanation is basically correct. it makes the Nydus Exit turn into a Drone or something like that and by moving the Drone, you move the exit and you can't really kill it. The Glitch Factor guide explains it better, and when that's up, it will tell you what to do and how it works.

Good to know! My friends would totally trip at this. It's like a moving, invisible ground teleporter. Now that's pretty neat!

But you have to be careful with it. It can crash StarCraft if something happens. I forget what it was which isn't helpful, but we'll see when Glitch Factor is back up.

If the drone gets killed it causes Broodwar to crash, I do believe. Not pleasant.

when i saw the guy do it, he had a drone that was sunken, and im pretty sure undetectable to the enemy.. i asked him what was up with the sunken drone and he said the drone was "special". once that glitch site gets up, please someone let me know how its done.. it was a real sweet glitch.

This is from memory, so it's probably not accurate, but here goes.

Tell a Nydus to build an exit.
Hotkey a Drone egg you make from a Larva that hasn't completed to 1.
Select the morphing Nydus exit (may be the entrance, I don't remember).
Click Ctrl 1, 1, Esc very quickly in that order.

It was smoething like that, but I'm not quite sure. it requires laggy conditions under extra high latency because unlike the Hydralisk stacking, you don't have the time it takes for it to burrow; this must be done very fast.
