This map is not a "use map settings" but I wanted it critiqued by map makers.
The issue I would like to address is the size and shape of the bases and the free area in between.
I realize that many of you are imediatley bitter about the nature of the map.
Please try to look beyond that and address the general lay out of the map
thanks for your comments outside the obvious.

So, it is a normal, melee map? I will assume it is a money map (because of that expo, where you have 6 vespene gas), but that doesn't matter. My main critique is that red has is the better one to kill. An army in that expo site, with tanks, is enough to bomb the hell out of his base. And that's not very fair...

Thanks

I appreciate your honest replys.
Yes it will be a money.
No one has implied the proportions of the bases are uneven though, they quite close. Does it look fair in that respect ? Does everyone have a reasonable amount of build room for a money map ?
Thanks for your time.

that is THE BIGGEST problem with that map, besides from the ramp. the ramp needs to be removed because that could also cause problems for yellow if red gets a bunker/seige tank there..
money maps cant even be called true money maps UNLESS you can build up and down..
unless you are trying to limit the space on purpose and are trying to make a SMallER version..
me, personally, i dont think that will catch on very well but its worth a shot. it looks like a nice map, everything looks about equal sizing but whats with the F T 8 in the bottom center of the map faded like for?
white and browns starting points are too close to eachother as a seaige tank+missle turret could fire upon each other while the others cant. thats also a bit unfair. i think the map needs to be a few sizes bigger so a bit more space between each starting point can be added to equal some things out.

White/Brown bases are too close. The terrain looks way too easy, so make it bigger and make the area for the SL's closer, but give more room to expand behind the base.

Big problem: The potential expansion location between red and yellow. None of the other players have that type of opportunity right outside their back doors. Remove it, edit it, give the others something similar.

Look at the size of the doodads or minerals. This map is WAY too big.

If you want to make it big, you need to add more substance to it.. money maps often have nothing because they are small and all the room gets taken up except for terrain placed to play in strategy and limitation of travel.

Suggestion: Move the possible expansion area to the middle, and give about 4 big access ways to get to it. 2 Ramps on the top (left/right), and 2 on the bottom (left/right) also. That way, if you can take the middle, you *could* have a tactical advantage, in certain cases.

How much space behind the sl's would be appropriate?
Can you tell me with something tangible ? "3 mineral chunks in width" or "the witdth of a Comand center" ?

Red and Blue both start very near an easily accessable expo(if theyre Terran they can just fly CC's up there) and a quick ramp for higher ground of defense. Completely unfair.
