choose a hero unit and change the model to what ever you want.

Yeah they should just put a check box in the editor under stats that says Hero lol it would be much damn easier

True it would wouldn'tbut it is blizzard they seem to like to make things hard.

not all the time everytime the update the editor it gets a little better. its still not noob friendly however. Some if you can here me write a noob guide for warcraft worldedit that talks in starcrafts world editor terms

ok anyways like Scorn said only one way to make a unit into a hero right now is to start with a hero atfirst

Well I did change that model it went an sed that the map file is too big, and i did some other things in other maps and it said they were too big, and that little error is makin me angry... quite.

Yeah, models take up a lot of space. Like our map for Battleforums takes up 250KB+ in custom icons. It isn't really a lot, but it will be a pain if we need any custom models for spells or anything like that.
