No sound

I have a problem. I have no sound. On top of that I can't use a microphone either. When I try to play music an error comes up and says (for music on winamp at least): Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error code: 88780078. Please help me.

Check you device manager n check if there a sound device on it.

Also make sure ur using the latest drivers from your sound card and reinstall Directx.
