No sound in Starcraft Brood War

I can't get sound to work in my Starcraft-Brood War. Sound works in Win98 as well as other games. When I enter Starcraft, I hear like a burst of sound and then nothing. The sound is enabled in the game but I can't hear anything.

Can anyone help with this?

Yes, My sound works in Win98 and even in other games. I just hear a burst of the music when entering SC but then nothing. I've turned the volume up and down in the sound option in SC but nothing. Have the option to hear voices and others check as well but can't hear any sound.

Hmm... You might have some driver problems, that should be fixed if you reinstall the game. When your in the game, try minimizing it and then maximizing it. Minimize is Alt+Tab. That works sometimes for my video issues. But that happens to everyone. If not I have no idea. Sorry

Have you tried hitting Ctrl + S or Ctrl + M? If you turn the music off once it stays off until you uninstall or turn it back on.

Make sure your sound icon is on your menu bar otherwise it wont work for all the sound. Same thing happened to me with SW:GB, but that was a different story(sound card did'nt work).

Either your sound card dont work or your music is turned off.
