What exactly is this Megaton deal? Over the past couple months a “Megaton†announcement has been almost constantly talked about, so to assess you all let's take a recap of the entire “Megaton†announcement possibilities. Firstly, a huge lineup of online titles including Cube Wars Online, Pokemon Online, and Mario Kart Online was rumored. Then, with SEGA's decreasing faith in the Xbox, Nintendo was rumored to be considering a buyout of SEGA. And after Capcom's staggering losses in the last fiscal year, it was concluded that Nintendo might buy Capcom for a low price to get them out of their rut. The second newest rumor would be a GCN price drop to $100 due to some ads leaking out of a few retailers. But there is one way every single one of these wonderful things could happen.
That is that Nintendo could sue Sony Computer Entertainment for every dime of their Playstation [1 & 2] revenue and all of the rights to the Playstation name.

Nintendo would instantly become filthy rich and would have the PS2's whole essence in its gold-embroidered hands. Nintendo's next generation user base would be pumped from 5 million to nearly 40 million, and with the Gameboy sometime beating on the PS2 in monthly sales on its own, Nintendo would not know what to do with its limitless cash flow.

If the lawsuit actually happened the third-parties who might be bought right now (Sega, Capcom) would be bought easily for huge sums of money, and most of the developer/publishers ties with the Xbox would be squandered due to Nintendo pumping them the cash.

Then, Nintendo could start an online venture and make it extremely affordable, with a lot of compatible first-party and third-party games at launch. And finally, the GCN's price would be dropped to $100.

By that point, the Xbox would be pushed away into a little corner, swimming in its own self-pity while faithful Xboxers stare into the Nintendo abyss in disbelief.

The thing is, this lawsuit would be too good to be true. And for that reason, it most likely will never happen. But, it’s always nice to dream.

no i dont find "lovely" at all. I hate Nintendo, mainly because every game i played for GC and N64 dissapointed me alot. I wish Nintendo goes out of buisness

GC only has a few good games like thier sports games, metroid prime, the Res Evil franchise, and a few others But most of the other games i played for GC were either poorly done or targeted to a young audience (which accounts for about 80% of their games.)

Its true PS2 might not have the graphics of GC, but atleast 80%of thier games are targeted for adult audiences.

As for Xbox, i rather have a consol made by a big heartless corperation over a consol made with heart any day of the week. Call me satan or souless, its a known fact things made with heart cannot compare to things made by a cold, mechanized origin. DAWN TO THE MACHINE!!

You probally don't even own a GC or Nintendo 64, I hated Nintendo too, until I got an N64 for Christmas. Even though the games look kiddie and cartoonish people don't realize that the game itself can still be good. Mario 64 is a perfect example and same goes for Super Smash Bros.

Most of the games Nintendo makes appeals to the adult audience in a certain way so that kids dont get the adult joke, comedy, and stuff like that, Shrek is a good example of this.

that maybe true, but PS2 and Xbox have more games targeted to a pure adult audience. I dont play anything rated teen or under, for me it has to be Mature

N64 was pretty cool but the Gc disappionted me much, PS2 has games i dont care so much about graohics as gameplay and the value of the game.GC will die out soon as the litl kids grow up and the next gen will buy PS2 and Xbox cuz they have better games. Well PS2 does dont know about Xbox

I think that everyone has a different system that is meant for him/her. Every perosn has a different personality, regardless of age. Some people just get certain games because their friends do, which I think is foolish because if you own games that your friends don't then you can trade/borrow when you are finished with them. People should keep in mind what type of games are common in the next-gen systems before they buy, but I KNOW that everyone will just rush out and get the next one made by their favorite current company. After awile of playing my PS2 I thought I was in heaven, but then one of my friends gets an XBox and I slap myself. Another friend gets GCN and I'm amazed again! So I learned that ALL consoles have their ups and downs...

The day N64 came out my friend baught it and I tried and was Impress and the game was very good. But since Playstation had a better game in R.P.G I prefer more Psx anyways If I still Played N64 Ill probably play Zelda and Super Smash Bros.
I didnt like Gc The controller the game was soso. Playstation 2 Own ALL -_- I was Impress about Xbox with Halo but after a while all the game wasnt good at all. The only game that looks good in Gc is Metroid Prime. Xbox is Halo and Ps2 GTA3 Vice City.
I always enjoyed Final Fantasy. But still Nintendo made some good games.
