im going to make an enigma out of the archon plate cause thats the best one.
if the armor has higher defence or superior does it mean it will turn out to be really rare and high in D?
btw archon plate is better to work with than mage plate right?

Rare, no, high D, yes. Archon plate is great to work with, due to high Defence, with reletively low STR req. whereas the Mage plate has medium defence, and extremely low STR req.

enigma is a runeword, which gives you +teleport, whole bunch of strength, and base defense is exactly what you think it is.

base defence is the defense on the armor BEFORE making it into a rune word.

infa is right, Enigma adds 750 - 775 defense (varies) so your base def on your armor needs to be a min of 550 to get 1300 def. hope that helps

Like Synister said, in order to be guaranteed at least 1300 DEF, the base DEF of the Archon Plate that you're going to use needs to be at least 550. Because Archon Plates only go up to 524 DEF, it will need to be superior.

550/524 = 1.049 * 100 = 104.9%

So you will need at least a 5% Superior Archon Plate to be guaranteed a 1300 DEF Enigma.

grab body armor that has 3 sockets (preferably dusk shroud/mage plate/archon plate/breastplate) stick in runes Jah, Ith, and Ber (and you need to put them in in this order)

Note: "superior" prefix will give you more defense
