Newbie map maker vespene problem

I just made a map and I can't figure out whats wrong with the vespene geysers.. If you want to build a vespene geyser in the game you have to place it around the geyser until it turns green, instead of being centered on where you see the geyser. This especially causes problems with protoss, they dont seem to want to build on it from the wrong side of the geyser.

How do I make the vespene geysers snap to the map? I'm using X-tra editor 2.5

thanks

Yeah, if you want the vespene geysers close to the base, use either StarForge or SCMDraft. You can find them here near the middle of the page.

The problem is your not placeing the vespene on the grid. In the game all buildings must be placed on the grid. If you vespene isn't on the grid you can't just build on top of it. To do it correctly use the Basic Star Edit to restrict your gas placement to the grid, or use starforge, or turn on the grid in the editor and guess what it close.

If you didn't want to use thebase edit and keep switching, you could always just turn the grid on and line up the geyser in the grid. I used this technique in my bound maps so i wouldn't have to keep switching.

You can't keep switching. Once you make a bunch of units in special mode then base mode will remove them. If you want to align to the grid pefectly you need to use SCM Draft or Starforge.
