I think the idea of using water would be neat. But there should be two differnet levels of water: -deep. -shallow(Duh). Units that can travel in water can travel in both excluding large water units. Another idea is that these water units can also travel on land, but the fault is that they have to change form in some way at shore, making them defensless temperarily and un able to attack. Though this may seem unfair for the ground units because they cannot travel in both areas, some will be able to travel in the sallow areas. Such as how this effect is possible in AoE(Age of Empires) or other Microsoft games. The idea of bridges would also be neat. I also support the idea of building ramps, even if they are temporary. Another idea to even out the water vs land conflict would to create early air units for all races.
